Get To Know Me 4.0

Hello readers! It is I, Samarth Sampath, back from an unpaid sabbatical (just an expression, I don’t get paid anyways), following suit of my fellow bloggers, with my ‘Get To Know Me’ segment. I would have loved to just continue with my sure-shot, tried and true, definite success of a series (which I am sure all of you have heard of), ‘#RANDOM!’, but hey, readers getting to know who is writing their blogs really adds a touch of direct communication and empathy between the readers and writers. So, I think that my team is really onto something here (I take no credit for this idea, whatsoever, this was a team effort).

Anyways, as a blogger and a person, there are some things that you should know, and have probably gotten to know, about me. So, how about I start:

  • I am very shy. Most of my friends or probably most people I know and who know me would probably disagree, but it is the truth. I just don’t have the courage to talk to others, unless it is my obligation.
  • This thing is the entire opposite of my first point: I love public speaking! Haha! I mean, like contradictory, to the farthest extent possible, right? But, if there are MUNs, Debates, Public Speaking opportunities of any kind, you will probably find my name on the signup sheet (unless I am totally occupied with no free space in my schedule).
  • I AM ALMOST ALWAYS TOTALLY OCCUPIED WITH NO FREE SPACE IN MY SCHEDULE!!! I like to do a little bit of everything. I like a lot of stuff and I try it out as well, but I am not always good at it. (Here again, I am hoping people will disagree, saying that I am good, but even I know that’s not true!)
  • I love sports! Sports is a really important part of my life. I love cricket, but I also enjoy soccer, badminton, table tennis, a little bit of tennis (because I only started recently), a little bit of squash (same reason), etc. I love it, be it playing or watching. I mean, you are talking about the guy who was willing to get up at 4:30 to watch India vs Australia (the test series), just to get a full day’s viewing experience. I was talking with my classmates and teacher the other day and I talked about how I got up at 7:30(ish) on regular school days, 6(ish) on test or exam days and 5(ish) on match days! My teacher’s comments, ‘What dedication!’ I mean, I really have my priorities straight, right?
  • I love cracking jokes! This should be evident through my writing (I hope). I try to crack jokes all the time about pretty much everything, and, like all people, in the end, I am the only one laughing at my jokes. Seriously, the others are always giving me looks saying, ‘please be merciful on us, and stop’ or ‘Seriously? That’s your idea of a joke?’ Well, what do I say, bad jokes just run in my veins.
  • I also love getting deep. You will find me going into a deep, ‘sagey’ kind of mode, when given the opportunity. Even here though, I always end with a joke!

Well, that’s about it from my side! I hope that I have created a link with you guys, but for the link to really be established, you guys need to tell me about yourselves too! Talk to us (my team and I, if that wasn’t evident), in the comments section, for we would love to get to know you too! Until next time, stay home, and stay safe! (P.S: I really think we should change our ending catchphrase, I mean, the lockdown finished ages ago. Something still related to staying safe, but… not this. Please also tell us what you think would be ideal to end with in the comments section.)
