#QUARANTINE INSANITY

Hello readers! As promised, we are back to talk about some more aspects of the “New World Order” …

So, during these times of melancholy and somber, when our world has apparently totally collapsed and shattered, leaving us really uncertain, one thing that I worry more about is – How to stay sane amidst all this commotion?! 😔

To be honest, I’m totally fatigued with all the franticness. The news reporters keep shouting aloud, telling us how the roads everywhere in the world are so quiet and calm and that people in busy cities like Noida have started hearing birds sweetly chirping, making everyone feel calm. But then again, one should visit my abode! First of all, I was under the impression that social-distancing is the key to defeating this pandemic, however, it certainly doesn’t seem like that here. Can someone please confirm if I am experiencing a different lockdown? Because, I am trying hard to distance myself from my family, get some privacy, but my family is always lurking around me with a rather noisy air. The turbulence at home is something I fail to escape. This is the scenario at my home:

  • My brother’s cricket ball will keep bouncing on and off the walls as he hits it hard with his bat in his hand, as if an IPL match is scheduled next day and the selectors are expecting him to do well.
  • My dad will keep washing utensils (also noisily), and once he is done with them, he’ll shout out to mom to ask where to keep each one of them.
  • My mother will be on her phone calls with her colleagues and the sound of her rapidly typing on the keyboard will ensure that I can’t even sit around her too.
  • My granny’s TV will be on full force and while I’m reading the climax to some Percy Jackson book, she’ll laugh aloud to one of Kapil Sharma’s popular jokes! And that completely kills the vibe of the story, leaving me confused! 😭

All this is really baffling…And, guess what, I have to clean too! Oh, how I loathe cleaning! 😡 Forget about the time to introspect, I don’t even get enough uninterrupted time to read!

I have been trying to do a lot to keep myself engrossed and away from this chaos, to keep myself calm and sane. However, if you are feeling sane, do tell me how you are managing so! 😉

Although it may seem next to impossible for me, I resolve to still follow the guidelines on social distancing !

Like it was once famously said by Charlie Chaplin, “Nothing is permanent in this wicked world- not even our troubles.”  With that hope in our hearts, let us thank the people working in these tough times as this time too shall pass, and stay positive, if not for yourself, then to honor their hard work.

 “Stay Home, Stay Safe!” 😊

  1. True, at these times, one can’t get enough time away from family, whereas during normalcy, one can’t get to spend time with them. We should take this is as an opportunity to spend some quality time with loved ones.
